Disturbances that affect predominantly peripheral joints (limbs)
M00-M03 INFECTIOUS ARTHROPATHIES
Note. This group covers arthropathies caused by microbiological agents. The distinction was made according to the following types of etiological connection: a) direct infection of the joint, in which microorganisms invade the synovial tissue and microbial antigens are found in the joint; b) indirect infection, which can be of two types: "reactive arthropathy", when the microbial infection of the body is established, but in the joint neither microorganisms nor antigens are detected; and "postinfection arthropathy", at which the microbial antigen is present, but the recovery of the organism is inconclusive and there is no evidence of local multiplication of the microorganism.
M05-M14 INFLAMMATORY POLYARTHROPATHIES
M15-M19 ARTHROSE
Note. In this block the term "osteoarthritis" is used as a synonym for the term "arthrosis" or "osteoarthritis". The term "primary" is used in its usual clinical meaning.
Excluded: spine osteoarthritis ( M47.- )
M20-M25 OTHER JUMPING DAMAGE
Excludes: joints of the spine ( M40-M54 )
