Note. The codes O80-O84 are designed to encode the incidence. The codes of this block should be used for the primary coding of the incidence only if there are no records of the presence of other conditions classified in class XV. When using these headings, one should be guided by the recommendations and rules for coding morbidity, set out in Volume 2.

O80 Single births, spontaneous delivery

Includes: cases with or without minimal help, with or without episiotomy, normal delivery

O81 Single birth, delivery with forceps or vacuum extractor

Excluded: an unsuccessful attempt to use a vacuum extractor or forceps ( O66.5 )

O82 Single birth, delivery by caesarean section

O83 Single birth, delivery with another obstetric aid

O84 Multiparty childbirth

If necessary, identify the method of delivery by each fetus or child using an additional code (O80-O83).

In Russia, the International Classification of Diseases of the 10th revision ( ICD-10 ) was adopted as a single normative document to take into account the incidence, the reasons for the population to address medical facilities of all departments, the causes of death.

ICD-10 was introduced into the practice of health care throughout the RF in 1999 by the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia of 27.05.97. №170

The release of the new revision ( ICD-11 ) is planned in 2017.
