DISEASES OF RESPIRATORY BODIES (J00-J99)

Note. If a lesion of the respiratory organs involves more than one anatomical area, not specifically designated, it should be classified according to anatomically lower localization (for example, tracheobronchitis is coded as bronchitis under J40).

Excluded:

  • individual conditions originating in the perinatal period ( P00-P96 )
  • some infectious and parasitic diseases ( A00-B99 )
  • complications of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period ( O00-O99 )
  • congenital anomalies, deformities and chromosomal abnormalities ( Q00-Q99 )
  • diseases of the endocrine system, eating disorders and metabolic disorders ( E00-E90 )
  • injuries, poisoning and some other effects of external causes ( S00-T98 )
  • neoplasms ( C00-D48 )
  • symptoms, signs, deviations from the norm, revealed in clinical and laboratory studies, not elsewhere classified ( R00-R99 )

  • J80-J84 Other respiratory diseases affecting mainly the interstitial tissue
  • J85-J86 Purulent and necrotic conditions of the lower respiratory tract

  • J95-J99 Other respiratory diseases

In Russia, the International Classification of Diseases of the 10th revision ( ICD-10 ) was adopted as a single normative document to take into account the incidence, the reasons for the population to address medical facilities of all departments, the causes of death.

ICD-10 was introduced into the practice of health care throughout the RF in 1999 by the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia of 27.05.97. №170

The release of the new revision ( ICD-11 ) is planned in 2017.
